Treasure Maps
Treasure Maps are a new mechanic added in Patch 2.1 that allows players to find hidden chests that contain valuable items. These chests are guarded by monsters, and they can only be opened after defeating them. However, you cannot carry more than one Treasure Map at a time.
The easiest way to acquire FFXIV Treasure Maps is through Gathering Nodes as a Botanist or Miner. These Level 80 maps can be gathered once per 18 hours. You can track your timers in the Timer menu of your inventory.

In the dungeon, you’ll be greeted by random enemies that will try to attack you. Once you defeat them, the original owner of the Treasure Map will open their chest. The chest contains a variety of items including EXP, gil, Allagan Tomestones, minions, aetherial gear, and housing items.
